Scope of Works
The scope of works is to maintain through dredging the basin of the Abdeh fisherman port to the required depth (-2 m and -3 m) enabling the different portions of the harbor to be used safely. The material to be dredged (around 50,000 m3) is composed of fine sand and silt and shall be transported 20 km and disposed offshore at a minimum 200 m water depth.

In order to tackle this small yet challenging dredging job, North and South and its sister company Hydromar made use of their specialized shallow draft equipments, mainly one backhoe dredger, one self propelled split barge, and one supporting tug in order to meet the project requirements to the satisfaction of the Client and Engineer.
