Scope of Works
In the process of the basic infrastructure in the context of the Tanger Med 2 Port Extension, and specifically in order to accelerate the construction of its breakwaters and caisson line foundation to meet the project schedule, TMBYS needed to dump directly in its final underwater location around 5,000,000 ton of rock material.
Having proposed the right equipment and price, North and South was hired for the job. To carry on the works, N&S mobilized and utilized its Self Propelled Split Barges “ Al Arz 1” and “Al Arz 2” having a hopper capacity of 1500 m3 for the works.
To achieve the required advancement rate, the works will be carried out on the basis of 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Rock material (0-500kg) will be transported from the loading dock and dumped at the locations specified by TMBYS. The works are proceeding smoothly and are scheduled to be completed around March 2013.
